The truth is, our health has declined due to modern problems, but we don’t need flashy, high-tech solutions or costly drugs to reclaim it. What we need is to embrace proven principles that have helped humans thrive for hundreds of thousands of years: clean air, clean water, and nutritious food. It sounds simple, but today’s world is filled with chemicals and pollutants at every turn. I’ll guide you in identifying and avoiding the worst offenders while addressing any nutritional imbalances that may have resulted from a lifetime of these exposures.
Fortunately, this doesn’t mean sacrificing the comforts of modern life. Many health programs feel restrictive and socially awkward, but I believe making healthy choices the majority of the time is the key to success. For instance, if eating out is an important part of your social life, plan to go out for food 10% of the time and focus on optimal home-cooked meals the other 90%. Meaningful social habits contribute to overall well-being, and it would be a mistake to ignore their benefits. Of course, for those who want faster progress and are willing to aim for perfection, stricter approaches are always an option.
This process takes time, and it’s important to live your life, too. Trying to go 10% faster at the expense of missing social events or activities that bring you joy often isn’t worth it. It’s far better to create a lifestyle that is both enjoyable and healthy so that you genuinely want to stick with it for the long term.
